FILAMENT WOUND PRODUCTS
Comptec manufactures custom filament wound products for many markets, including electrical power equipment, aerial lift truck booms, pressure vessels, filter chambers, radomes for antennas, drive shafts, fuse tubes, gas couplings, light weight rolls for the paper and plastic making industries, and other mechanical applications in the aerospace, military and chemical process industries. Filament wound products are produced in diameters of 1/2" to 4 feet and lengths of 1/2" to 40 feet, and in a variety of shapes including round, square, rectangular, tapers and local build ups.

Our filament winding process utilizes a resin matrix and a reinforcing fiber wound in a precise pattern to produce the ultimate mechanical strength properties required of each specific application. We utilize three families of resin matrixes - epoxies, vinyl esters and polyester - with glass, carbon fiber, kevlar or polyester reinforcing fibers.
